Composite Roof Shingles Are an Excellent Choice

Composite Roof Shingles Are an Excellent Choice

Looking For a Local Contractor Fast?

The latest trend in roofing is to use composite roof shingles. In most situations, they are an excellent choice of material.  Composite shingles are very much like other traditional shingles. They come in a variety of styles and colors that mimic traditional roofing materials. Composite roof shingles are also exceptionally durable and long lasting in comparison to traditional shake or asphalt shingle roof materials.  The combination of durability and style make composite roof shingles one of the leading choices in roofing materials today.

Composite roof shingles are available in more styles and colors than ever before.  Composite shingles have been on the market for many years, but as they have improved in looks and style, they have become much more popular.  Just about any color, shape, or size you want is available in composite shingles.  For instance, you can get traditional three tab shingles, wood shake-like shingles, or composite slate-like shingles for your home.  The looks are so stunning with modern manufacturing techniques that no one will be able to tell that you are using anything other than the traditional materials.

Durability is another reason why composite shingles are so popular.  Where traditional shingles may have an estimated life span of fifteen to twenty years, composite shingles typically are warranted to last anywhere from thirty to fifty years.  Some composite shingles even have a lifetime warranty, an exceptionally strong statement about how the manufacturer expects their product to perform through the years.

As an added benefit, many manufacturers are producing composite shingles that include a special additive that makes them resistant to algae and mold growth.  This can be an especially nice feature if you live in an area where the climate is very wet for much of the year.  As you can see, if you are in need of a new roof or are building a new home it is well worth considering composite roof shingles as your first choice of roofing materials.
