Of course your new bathroom vanity cabinets are going to need a countertop.  If you have the extra money in the budget, stone is a great material for this purpose.  It's strong, durable, and looks beautiful.  It is more expensive than some of the other options out there, but you won't be concerned with having to replace it any time soon.  If a stone countertop isn't exactly what you had in mind, there is always the option of ceramic tiles.  These are easy to customize and you could even invent your own design for the vanity top.  The drawback with ceramic tile is that the grout can stain easily and the surface will be irregular.

When you make the decision to re-do the vanity cabinets in your bathroom, at least you know there are all kinds of styles and designs available to help you create the bathroom you have always dreamed of.
